Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 6, 2026
1. Who we are
Day (the "App") is a daily planning application developed and operated by Day App ("we," "us," or "our"). If you have questions about this policy, contact us at nicholas.jack101@gmail.com.
2. Information stored on your device
The following data is stored locally on your device only using Apple's standard storage (AsyncStorage). We cannot access it, and it is not transmitted to our servers:
- Your daily plans, tasks, and goals
- Journal entries and mood logs
- Calendar events and categories
- App preferences and theme settings
- Focus timer data and session history
- Your name (used to personalize the app)
- Onboarding selections and focus areas
This data is deleted when you uninstall the app or use the "Reset app" function.
3. Information sent to our servers
When you use AI planning features, your brain dump text is sent to our secure backend (hosted by Supabase) to generate your daily plan. Specifically:
- Brain dump text — the text you type or speak on the planning screen
- Energy level — low, medium, or high (used to tailor the plan)
- Planning mode — AI or manual
This text is processed by Anthropic's Claude AI to generate your plan and is not stored on our servers after processing. We do not log, retain, or use your brain dump text for any purpose other than generating your plan.
4. Third-party services
Day uses the following third-party services:
Anthropic (Claude AI)
Your brain dump text is sent to Anthropic's API to generate your daily plan. Anthropic processes this data according to their Privacy Policy. We use their API, which does not use your inputs to train their models by default.
Supabase
Our backend function (which calls Anthropic's API) is hosted on Supabase. Supabase processes requests to generate your plan. No personal data is stored in our Supabase database. See their Privacy Policy.
RevenueCat
If you subscribe to Day Pro, RevenueCat processes your subscription and purchase data. RevenueCat may collect your device identifier and purchase history to manage your subscription. See their Privacy Policy.
Apple (In-App Purchases)
Subscription payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple's Privacy Policy applies to all payment transactions.
5. Microphone access
Day requests access to your microphone only when you tap the voice input button to speak your brain dump. This permission is used solely for speech-to-text transcription on your device. We do not record, store, or transmit audio.
6. Notifications
Day may request permission to send local notifications (reminders to plan your day). These notifications are generated entirely on your device and do not involve our servers. You can disable notifications at any time in your iPhone's Settings.
7. Children's privacy
Day is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at nicholas.jack101@gmail.com.
8. Data security
Your local data is protected by your device's built-in security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID). Data sent to our backend is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. We do not store your personal planning data on our servers.
9. Your rights
Since your data lives on your device, you have full control over it:
- Delete your data — use the Reset function in Settings, or uninstall the app
- Export your data — your journal and plans are accessible within the app
- Manage your subscription — cancel anytime through the App Store Settings on your iPhone
For questions about data processed by third-party services (RevenueCat, Anthropic), please refer to their respective privacy policies or contact us and we'll help you navigate the request.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll notify you within the app.
